What a refillable candle really means
A vessel worth keeping is the only honest luxury in home fragrance.
The average luxury candle vessel is used once, for about seventy hours, and then either thrown away or kept, empty, as a pen holder. That is an extraordinary amount of hand-blown glass and marble to make for a single use, and it is why we designed the Désir vessel around the refill rather than the candle.
How it works
The 260 g refill is a wax insert in a thin recyclable sleeve, sized to drop into any Signature vessel. It costs about a third less than the candle, ships flat, and can be any of the ten fragrances, so the vessel you bought for Ardore can hold Fuoco by winter.
The lid
The marble lid is the part that makes this feel right. Turned from Rajasthan stone, it weighs enough to feel permanent, and it is the reason a Désir vessel stays on the table instead of in a cupboard.
What comes back
Spent inserts can be returned in both countries; the wax is recovered and the sleeve recycled. Luxury that ends in a bin is not luxury. It is packaging.
