A note from the house
Late, doors closed, music low. This is the darkest thing we make: Assam oud, smoke and old libraries, cut open by a desert lime from the red centre. It divides people, and we are glad of it.
Made most often for men who did not think they wanted a candle.

The story
Agarwood is a wound that became a perfume: the resin a tree makes when it is infected, dark and smoky and expensive beyond reason. It smells of leather, incense and old libraries.
The desert lime is a tiny fruit from Australia's red centre, sharper than any lime you have squeezed. It slices the oud open.
Light it late, with the doors closed and the music low.
