A note from the house
This is the one people give when they mean it. It changes the temperature of a room the way a struck match changes a cold one: a flash, then a warmth that stays. Saffron from Pampore and the powder-sweetness of golden wattle are only the how.
Made most often for someone else; rarely for oneself.

The story
A kiss of fire is a small thing that changes the temperature of a room. Saffron does exactly that: a few threads and the whole dish is another colour. Pampore's saffron smells of leather, honey and iodine, a scent that is almost a taste.
Golden wattle blooms in late winter, a haze of powder-yellow along every road. Its mimosa sweetness is the softness the saffron needs; together they smell like the moment a match is struck in a cold room.
Light it for someone. It is the Désir most often given, and the one that started the conversations that made us.
