A note from the house
Light it early, before the evening, so the room is ready before you are. It is a rose without manners: deep, warm, a little wild, the way Kannauj has distilled roses for four hundred years, and given somewhere to go by Tasmanian boronia.
Made most often for anniversaries, and for the first night in a room that is now shared.

The story
Kannauj has distilled roses the same way for four hundred years: petals picked before dawn, steamed in copper stills into sandalwood oil. The result is not a pretty rose. It is a deep one, spiced and slightly wild.
Boronia grows only in Tasmania and smells of hay, freesia and blackcurrant leaf at once. It gives the rose somewhere to go.
Light it in a bedroom, early, so the room is ready before you are.
